Renewable energy technologies
Most renewable energy derives from the sun
Solar, biomass, wind, hydro, heat pumps and energy from waste. There are examples of successful community energy projects using all these renewable technologies.
The secret is to find the right technology, and this is not necessarily the obvious one. For example, a biomass project may be ideally suited to a community in the middle of a city that's nowhere near any woodland.
Have a look through the pages on the left, which describe the various options and contain useful downloads, including video case studies of real community renewable initiatives that have been successful.
